《公理边缘》由天才程序员Thomas Happ一人独自完成，借鉴了《超惑星战记》《生化尖兵》《未来战士》《洞窟物语》《恶魔城》和《魂斗罗》等游戏元素着手开发。

游戏时间长达8小时，包含60多种道具，超过20中可升级的武器，经典的2D画面，科幻的故事主线以及出色的背景音效。在游戏中，玩家们扮演的是Trace，有一天他醒来之后发现自己身处在一个陌生的世界，令人难以置信的是这里现代与远古竟然可以并存。
